Plum Horse Crazy Ranch provides equine therapy for survivors of domestic violence abuse, anger management, and much more. Not only does PHCR offer therapy and counseling, we also offer horseback-riding lessons and seasonal kids camps.
Put a child with a horse and you see love in action. There is a magic that occurs between these beautiful animals and the child and it happens with adults too.
Clients learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with horses and then processing feelings, behaviors and patterns. Horses provide great metaphors for mirroring how the client is with partners, colleagues, friends and family.
The focus of the program is not riding or horsemanship alone, in fact, most sessions takes place on the ground. The focus involves setting up activities with horses, which require the individual or group to apply certain skills. These include: Verbal, Non-verbal Communication, Relationship, Assertiveness, Creative Thinking and Problem Solving, Leadership Skills, Work, Taking Responsibility, Teamwork, Self Confidence and Awareness of Self and Others
